ceropegia
Ceropegia is a genus of 160 species of semi-succulent plants native to Africa, southern Asia, and Australia. The most well-known variety is Ceropegia woodii, or “String of Hearts.”
Light: Ceropegia prefer bright, indirect light. Too little light will result in long, leggy vines.
with long spaces between leaves.
Water: Allow the soil to dry out about halfway between watering. When the center leaves closest to the soil are thin and pliable, the plant needs watering.
Humidity: Normal room humidity is fine.
Soil: Any potting mix is fine, though Ceropegia will benefit from adding extra perlite to mix to enhance drainage.
Feeding: Fertilize with diluted houseplant fertilizer sparingly during the growing season (spring through fall).
Pests/Diseases: Ceropegia are susceptible to mealybugs and scale. Because they are semi succulent, they should not be overwatered, as they can easily develop root rot.
Toxicity: Ceropegia Woodii are non-toxic to humans and animals.
